Join us as Innovation Catalyst to validate, build, and scale disruptive business ideas

Job description

Your Challenge & Tasks

While we're not actively hiring for this role at the moment, the landscape at Mavie Next is always evolving. Therefore, we are always keen and interested to connect.

Our Innovation Catalysts work across a wide range of projects, all centered around business ideas at various stages—from early ideation and incubation to scale-up. These teams uncover untapped opportunities, validate them with real users, and support ventures throughout the full lifecycle—from initial discovery and prototyping to market entry and growth.

At Mavie Next, it’s not only about brainstorming (though innovation is at our core)—it’s about building, testing, and learning fast. Whether you're working on a brand-new idea and concept or refining a more mature initiative, your role is to bring structure, strategy and tangible progress. You’ll ensure that every proven idea serves a clear purpose and delivers value to our customer groups—whether B2C or B2B.

  • Identify unmet needs and customer pain points in the healthcare space, turning insights into actionable opportunities.

  • Validate, build, and scale new business models—whether entering new markets or growing existing offerings.

  • Design, test, and iterate on prototypes and MVPs using lean startup, design thinking, and rapid experimentation.

  • Conduct customer research and use data to guide product development and business decisions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement ideas in a fast-paced, agile environment.

  • Apply business thinking to assess viability, support financial modeling, and shape go-to-market strategies.

  • Explore new markets and segments through strategic and analytical research.

  • Make informed decisions on scaling or stopping initiatives—always learning and evolving.

  • Shape healthcare solutions that are innovative, practical, and valuable to real users.

Job requirements

What you need to be successful

  • Experience as a business developer, entrepreneur, or intrapreneur—ideally in innovation, product, or venture-building contexts

  • Background in the healthcare industry in areas such as (but not limited to) clinical care, elderly care, telemedicine, mobile health, predictive analytics, population health, or nutrition

  • Solid understanding of the healthcare ecosystem in Austria, the DACH region, and/or CEE—knowledge of local market dynamics is a strong advantage

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically and translate insights into viable business opportunities

  • A good grasp of financial concepts, with the ability to support financial modeling, unit economics, and investment thinking

  • A hands-on approach to testing, learning, and iterating in fast-paced environments

  • Sharp awareness of unmet needs, emerging trends, and untapped opportunities in healthcare

  • Tenacity and resilience—the drive to push through obstacles and keep moving forward

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams

  • Openness to feedback—and the willingness to give it constructively in return

  • The ability to build and present compelling, data-driven business cases

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and German
